Crossed - Ally Condie

End of 2nd chapter

I finished reading my other book yesterday and I'm not ashamed to say I have been dying to read this one.
When Xander shows up on Cassia's search for Ky things get emotional real fast. I sense a love triangle similar to that of the Hunger Games coming on. I am personally a team Ky all the way. Unlike the Hunger Games where I was not initially drawn to Peeta. I am very interested to see why happens and if Cassia stays true to her heart. Very much unlike Katniss, Cassia thrives on rebellion. I'm bursting with anticipation.

All The Tea in China - Orcutt

Status: page 326

The binding of women's feet in China is not news to me, and neither the killing of baby girls. It doesn't come as much of a surprise when Phineas's mother slaps Isabella. The part when he tells her he loves her is very sweet. Both of them are very faithful. Their departure kiss also reminds me of the first time I kissed my boyfriend in front of my parents. My personal intentions would not be the same as Isabella's. I would go with my husband of course, but their story isn't based on love. It's the love that blossoms from their companionship, the sort of relationship that would be common for their time. The story so far has been satisfying, but I'm still waiting for them to have that special story making scene. Except for her heroic act on the ship, I still haven't had that feeling yet. The end is closing near and I hope he returns for her.

All the Tea in China - Orcutt

Status: page 230

I find it very arrogant of Isabella to not see Mr. Snowe was of the Orient. I'm only appalled and taken an back by this only because that is something myself I am very keen to. Normally I can guess someone's nationality in either two tries or not at all. Just something I stumbled upon when reading that I couldn't let down. Even so today people ask me where I was born when I only speak English. I am no more possibly from another county than a random English-speaking walker on the street.

All the Tea in China - Jane Orcutt

I am currently on page 135 and the story has just made an interesting turn.
From the beginning I like Isabella's personality very much. When she meets Mr. Snowe something seems to not sit right with me about him. Isabella's way of getting onto the ship after him is very unoriginal compared to other books I have read with a sea journey story line. That bit let me down and also the part with her seasickness after discovery. Her doing well with the cows was very gutsy and promising until he finds her. The story is a bit slow at times if you don't have any prior knowledge about ships. I'm lucky to have some Hornblower to help me out. Now we have just discovered a truth about Phineas and I hoe it leads to something promising.

Mockingjay

I just thought I should get out some thoughts about Peeta before I start reading my next book.
When Peeta gets rescued and comes back to 13 I started to have some mixed feelings about him. I had always liked Gale, but honestly he kept dropping hints that Katniss would be guilty if she was with him. Peeta now on the other hand got me to change me opinion about him yet again. His story with Katniss was always more tragic and everyone knows a Romeo-Juilet love story is more interesting. I guess in the end I accept Katniss's choice. They both deserve each other considering they both have problems in the head brought upon by the hunger games, but maybe that is what holds them together. Katniss and her children will never have the torment of another hunger games. Even though in the end of the book I'm still not sure if they are going to hold a Capital games because it was Coin's plan and she's not even there anymore. Katniss never mentions it in the end so I guess we are left to assume there never was one. I also think her vote for them was very out of character anyway, but not for Haymich. If you like to think on the characters actions just remember things don't always go according to plan. Happy reading and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Post 1

Do you ever get that numb feeling whenever you have to stop reading and put down your book?
I realized that whenever that would happen to me, it would always turn out that I loved that book. I hope to fill this blog with the thoughts that run through my mind when I put down a book.
